About Us
Educational Community Credit Union was founded in 1940 by the staff at Everett Junior College who were seeking to attain better loan and savings rates than were generally available at that time.
The original location of the credit union was on the premises of Lincoln Elementary School in Rockefeller, just below Everett High School.
In 1979 the credit union name was changed from Snohomish County Teachers Credit Union to Teachers' Credit Union Northwest to reflect the growth and expansion of the credit union.
Since then, the credit union has expanded to 3 branches in the Snohomish County area, which are located in Silver Lake, Monroe and Marysville.
In 1994, Teachers' Credit Union Northwest changed its name to Educational Community Credit Union and moved the main branch from Broadway to Silver Lake. Our new name better reflects a growing and diversified
member base. Anyone living in the state of Washington, as well as employees and family members of our Preferred Business Partners, can join Educational Community Credit Union.
Since 1940, Educational Community Credit Union has remained true to its roots, creating innovative and flexible financial products and services that are focused on helping members develop financial success.
Today, Educational Community Credit Union has 10,500 of your friends and neighbors as members.
In addition to our three branches we also offer a wide and convenient shared branching network throughout the United States! Find a branch near your home or workplace.
At Educational Community Credit Union you have an equal vote in shaping the future of the credit union. You and other members elect a volunteer board of directors to oversee the credit union.
Your opinion is important and we encourage members to actively be involved in the shaping of the credit union. We encourage you to join the credit union if you are not currently a member.
